Mitch Waring
My interest in electronic music sparked when I was about ten years old. My Dad began playing these “Trance Megamix” CDs in the car during our family road trips. Thanks to him I heard learned of the greatest electronic producers at the time. Hearing the tunes of future legends such Armin Van Burren, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, BT, and ATB sparked my interest in electronic music.
Fast-forward to 2010, Tiesto came to Houston for his Kaleidoscope Tour. I was fifteen at the time so I had to convince my Dad to buy the tickets and come with (which wasn’t difficult). I almost didn’t get in because you had to be sixteen to enter. Fortunately, with destiny on my side, the other gatekeeper let me in. Seeing this show made me realize I wanted to become a DJ.
Soon after the show, I requested a mix board. Immediately after receiving the controller I began practicing. I quickly learned to transition between songs and felt ready play for my friends. So I began playing house parties and posting mixes to SoundCloud. Once I graduated college I chose to make a career out of my passion for electronic music. Which in my mind meant I needed to learn how to produce.
In 2017, I began teaching myself how to produce. I spent countless hours watching youtube tutorials and experimenting in Ableton. It was a slow and painful process but I eventually got comfortable with my DAW and my productions got much better.
